proposal
For my narrative assignment, I am planning on telling a story about the time that I failed a math course in college, and how I came to terms with the situation, even though I felt as though I was unfairly disciplined. This story is important to me because I felt that it was a really formative moment for me as a student at UC Davis. I’m not exactly sure of the tone that I want to take in this narrative assignment. Furthermore, I believe that this story is important for my audience because I think that a lot of college students put a horrible amount of pressure on themselves and can be easily discouraged by a bad experience, a bad professor, or a bad class, and that they can come to blame it on themselves, rather than looking at the situation as a whole and understanding that things will ultimately be okay.

climax- taking a final and finding out that i failed
falling action- visiting my professor and trying to understand why he did not give me a passing grade, especially when he had sent out an email saying that he had miscalculated grades, and when I asked him to recalculate mine, he said no
resolution- coming to terms with what I felt was an unfair situation of having to deal with a professor that did not care about his students and was only interested in doing his own research. understanding that i did everything that i could do to try to fix the situation.
theme- all I can do as a student is work hard and honestly, and that I should be happy and content with that.
